Mount Airy was birthed in 1897 by a group of faithful and dedicated men and women of God. There were ten  Pastors of Mt. Airy over the last 113 years. One of those Pastors served for forty-one years, Rev. John L. Dorsey.

 

Under the leadership of Pastor Dorsey and his staff this present santuary was built and was dedicated on December 4, 1983. During that time Mt. Airy began to grow spiritually and physically. As the church continued to grow Mt. Airy purchased nine more acres of property adjacent to the church. A Multi-purpose Center was built and we named it The John L. Dorsey Multi-Purpose Center. We also have our very own Cemetery, the Mt. Airy Memorial Park Cemetery. In just a few years God blessed Mt. Airy to become a debt free Ministry. (Praise God)

 

Mt. Airy continues to grow under the leadership of our present Pastor Elder Clyde J. Staes. We have a great Bible Study, New Members Class, Ministers in Training Class, Youth Ministry, Marriage Ministry, Senior Saints Ministry, Men Ministry and Women Ministry. We host Women, Men and Youth Conferences yearly. We also have workshops and revivals.

 

It has been the prayers of the righteous that have kept the hand of God on Mt. Airy, we have powerful Intercessors who keep a blanket of prayer over Mt. Airy.

 

We have a great ministerial staff, a board of Elders, Ministers, Deacons, Deaconess, and three boards of Ushers. Mt. Airy consist of about 400 members.

 

Our Music Ministry is under the leadership of Minister of Music Darris Williams and we are blessed to have three anointed Choir.

 

Mt. Airy is dedicated to prayer, teaching and preaching the Word of God. We want lives to be changed, minds to be renewed and souls to be saved.
